Ok . . . So I'm not quite a Vegas showgirl . . . but I can probably work it with the best of them!

Anywho . . . Onto the juice . . .

Oh dear me . . . Where do I begin . . . Well . . . I suppose . . . I should start at the beginning . . .

My long and dirty love affair with Las Vegas started when I was 21 on my first trip to Las Vegas.

December 2002

It was about a month after my 21st birthday. I went with my brother, sister-in-law, and my best friend at the time, Jerry. We gambled, we drank. Eventually, the older ones went off to bed and Jerry and I were left to fend for ourselves in Sin City. Um hello? Did I mention it was my first time there??? We ended up at Ceasar's Palace at the Shadow Bar. Things were going swimmingly until I decided I didn't want to be a trampy-slut-ho-bitch-pig-dog. So I got up and walked out of the bar. I didn't know where I was going. I just knew I didn't want to be there.

So I eventually made it to the hotel's front door. I stepped outside and looked around. Very noticeably lost. One of the hotel employees walks up to me and says, "Are you ok? Do you need some help?" I told him I needed to get back to my hotel. This presents a whole new dilemma. I have no clue what the Hell the hotel I'm staying at is called. Mind you, It's my first trip to Vegas and I'm freakin' drunk as a skunk. He tells me he's going to get me a cab and I thank him. Then he asks me which hotel it is that I need to get back to . . . [insert deer in headlights look here] . . . Then he asks me to describe it . . . "big . . . green . . . yellow . . . lions!" . . . He asks me if I'm talking about the MGM and then the light bulb turns on for me! Yes! So he puts me in a cab on my way to the MGM.

Now then, this was about the time when the tsunamis were going on over in Indonesia (at least I think that's where it was . . . it was so long ago!). I'm in a cab. The driver has the heater on. I'm drunk and about to blow chunks if I don't get some fresh air. The cab driver starts talking about the tsunamis and how it really is a shame, blah, blah, blah [insert Peanuts' grown up characters voice droning sound here] . . . So I look at him and say, "I'm sorry, but unless you want puke all on the inside of your cab . . . You better open this window now!"

I eventually made it back to the hotel room and blew chunks.

And it only gets worse from here . . .

Sometime in 2004Natalie and I join my brother and sister-in-law for a weekend in Vegas. Long story short, my brother and his wifey turn into major sour pusses when they've managed to gamble away all their money and go to bed. God bless them. Anywho, Natalie and I were definitely not going to let a Vegas trip to go waste. So we go and sit outside the piano bar at New York, New York. We don't have any money gambling money left, but we still managed to hang onto a few dollars so we could tip the cocktail waitresses. Gotta focus on the important things here, you know? So we sit outside this bar singing along when we're spotted. By a bachelor party (from San Francisco, may I add . . .).

So one of the more adventurous guys comes out and puts his arm around Natalie and asks us why we're not inside. We tell him we're broke and that we're just sitting here listening to the music and throwing back a few beers. So he offers to pay for Natalie. Well being the devious ones we are . . . Natalie looks at the guy and then puts her hand on my leg in what has got to be the girliest thing I've ever seen her do (I guess that taught me never to underestimate her!) and says, "Well . . . I don't go anywhere without my poodle!" So the guy whistles to his friends, makes a gesture above my head asking them if they'll pay for me too and to my surprise one of them says yes! We go into the piano bar and the guys keep buying us drink after drink after drink cause I'm pretty sure they thought they were gonna get lucky that night. Poor foolish ~~boys~~ mortals. Little do they know that we had a plan. Natalie and I have our safe phrase when we know we're absolutely done drinking for the night when we're in Vegas.

I looked at Natalie and said, "Take me to bed or lose me forever". With that, she grabbed my hand, thanked the guys for a good time, and we were out of that bar faster than a dress comes off on prom night. I don't think those poor guys even had time to think!

October 2005Went to Vegas for my friend Carlos & Gina's wedding. Long story short . . . Piano bar . . . A seemingly endless flow of alcohol . . . and a water bottle to Carlos' head at the end of night courtesy of his blushing bride.

April 2006

Trust me . . . The rest of these aren't that long . . .

It's Puffin's birthday weekend. So what do we do? Bring our friend Bridge along (yea, yea . . . I'm Holly) and paint the freakin' town red! We end up at a bar where it turns out the bartender fancied me just a little . . . If I do say so myself . . Five years ago (and about 30 pounds ago) I was a hot piece of ass! So the bartender keeps making us these strong ass drinks. The end of the night comes. We go back to our hotel and being the classy bitch that I am . . . The minute we pulled into valet . . . I open the door and throw up.

2007 and 2008 were pretty tame.

July 2009

I'm totally cheating and copying and pasting this from a past entry . . .

My poor brother (I made sure he had an excellent anniversary celebration weekend) didn't get out of bed until about 8 p.m. on Saturday night. Then there's yours truly . . . Who decided to stick my head between two slot machines at New York, New York Hotel & Casino and christen them (yea, christen them . . . that's what you call it when you soak something in a bottle of alcohol, right?) instead of making the sprint to the nearest bathroom for fear of getting myself dirty! Yup. Sure did. No shame to my game. I'm sure I wasn't the first and I definitely won't be the last to throw up in the middle of a casino in Vegas. After being told by a cleaning lady that security was watching, we made a quick dash for the nearest exit and hopped a cab back to the hotel.

Anywho . . .

Thus has been my illustrious career in Las Vegas. I've been many more times than the ones listed, but these times stick out in my mind the most.

Meeko's Hotel

The name of my hotel would be Lost Resort. It would themed between a cross of Neverland and Alice and Wonderland. The halls would look as if you were walking down a wooded path with branches sprawled out across the ceiling. To add to the ambience, a fog machine would spread fog over the floor. Additionally, it would always be sort of darker inside since it willl be like nighttime. Bedrooms would be furnished with luxurious accomadations in shades of green and blue. Cocktail waitresses would dress in stuff along the lines of a naughty Tinker Bell. Male employees would dress between a cross of Mad Hatter/March Hare. The outside would look like a dark gothic palace. Along the lines of a Haunted Mansion at Disneyworld in Florida.

Miss Dot Goes to Vegas

I have to admit, I haven’t really been to Vegas a lot. Seems that many people out here in Southern California basically feel that Vegas is yet just another common weekend getaway but since I don’t really gamble or drink I just never quite had the urge to visit repeatedly. That is, of course, until my husband and I went about trying to plan a little celebration for our first wedding anniversary. We tossed about so many ideas from the oft-accepted “dinner-at-a-fancy-restaurant” to the super-pricey “flight-to-someplace-warm-and-tropical,” but nothing seemed to fit just right. Besides,as my husband and I were on a bit of a budget, we decided for the vacation that allowed us to get out of the city but didn’t break the bank. That’s when, thanks to a good friend, we came up with the idea of heading to Vegas.

Since the man and I don’t really gamble or drink, though, we did a bunch of really cool stuff instead. The first night, we saw the Blue Man Group at the Venetian and, let me tell you, there are no words to describe this show. So fun! The music and imagery are just so powerful and you’re wowed around every corner. If you haven’t had a chance to see The Blue Man Group and you’re heading to Vegas anytime soon, you have to check out this show! I mean, come on, look at how awesome they are in all their blue shininess!

The next night we went to the Palazzo and checked out Jersey Boys, a story about how Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons got their start. If you’re a fan of the oldies at all, this is the show for you. Obviously there’s great music involved but the acting and storyline are really top notch, too. Now every time I hear a Frankie Valli song on the radio, I think back to this show!

Our final night we went to the Wynn, only the most elaborately decorated hotel I’ve ever been in, to watch the Cirque du Soleil water show Le Rêve. I cannot believe how lavish this hotel is! I swear I even saw gold flakes embedded in the toilet paper…

OK, maybe not, but they did have a Ferrari dealership right in the hotel. Crazy…

This show is truly beautiful, though. Real artistry! It really is a show that lives up to the prestige of the Cirque du Soleil name.

What did we do during the day, though? Well, we visited the Bettie Page Clothing boutique at The Fashion Show Mall (where I bought a super cute red wiggle dress), we walked the strip, and… we did a CAKEWALK!!

After reading through the Cakewalks on CakeSpy, I thought it'd be fun to try out a bunch of new cupcake places.

Then, Amber (who suggested Vegas to us in the first place) found some cupcake places in Vegas, and so the hubbs and I went and searched for some more to try out and review while we were there.

Without futher ado, here is our

~VEGAS CAKEWALK~

First stop:

Sugar's Bakery

It took us a bit to find this place -- it's not on the strip and so we had to drive about 10-15 minutes to get there. Initially, we were kinda bummed about the distance but we soon found out that there are (at least) two other cupcake places in the immediate vicinity (reviewed below!) so it was OK.

Our first impression came from their sign.

Inside, it gets even cuter! (Can you believe it?) It has great display cases for their cupcakes and other baked goodies (like cookies and brownies!) plus fun seating and reading for kids and adults alike to enjoy while munching on their baked treasures ♥

For flavors, we finally settled on these three:

Review

The good: They had a nice variety of flavors to choose from, the decorations were thoughtful and creative, and we liked that they sold other baked goods though they advertised themselves as a cupcake shop. We loved their interior decorations, too. Everything was fun, whimsical, and made us want to stay forever.

The not-so-good: Their cupcakes were refrigerated --boo!-- which tends to make the cake dry out. Sure enough, after tasting the Red Velvet, we thought both the cake and frosting were dry and unappealing.

Bottom Line: Of the 4 cupcake places we visited, we ranked this one #2. Definitely worth the drive!

Second Stop:

Mad Hatter Cupcakes

This is the second cupcake place that we visited in the area that we came to term "Cupcake Alley" because of the (awesome) predominance of cupcake shops.

Seriously, there were three all within a 2-mile radius.

OMC I'm sold.

They let you choose your cake flavor, filling flavor, frosting flavor, and then your own candy to put on top. They even offer suggestions if you can't decide on your own!

This place is like Coldstone for cupcakes.

After much thought, we finally chose to make two cupcakes:

•HIS: Peanut butter cake with chocolate ganache filling and white chocolate frosting

•HERS: Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling and chocolate frosting with m&ms on top

Review

The good: OMC can you say "MOIST"?? The cake was so, so nice and moist. MmmMmmMmmmmmmMmm. The chocolate was so good and rich. In the words of my husband,

"That's a d*mn good chocolate cake."

The peanut butter cake was perfect, too. I feel like it can be difficult to capture a good peanut butter taste without creating an overwhelming flavor but Mad Hatter achieved it!

Other things we liked:

They sell shaved ice, too (neato!), they have a great seating area for enjoying your goodies, they provide mini cupcakes as samples (that day they had peanut butter cupcakes with white chocolate frosting), they have single cupcake holders in case you just want to take one for the road, AND they have a punch card for frequent visitors.

The not-so-good: Um...

Bottom Line: Of the 4 cupcake places we visited, we ranked this one #1. Are you booking your trip to Vegas yet?

Third Stop:

Cupcake Lane

First off, fantastic sign! No doubt about it -- this is a cupcake shop!

The inside was cute and quaint with curtained windows into the back bakery area.

This cupcake shop also had a great selection of cupcakes to choose from. With flavors that had names like Savannah Street (their version of red velvet) or Michigan Avenue (lemon cupcake with lemon frosting), they definitely won the award for more creative names.

We chose three cupcakes here, too:

Review

The good: Fun flavor names, creative decorations, and cute to-go boxes for single cupcakes (they used Chinese take-out containers). We also liked that they offered some sugar free cupcakes as well as cupcakes for canine companions.

The not-so-good: Their cupcakes were refrigerated. No no no no no! Pooey. Also, I really (really) hate to say this, but we were totally underwhelmed. We expected a lot given the nifty names and decorations but the cupcakes themselves were totally lacking. Lombard Street tasted like, well, a Hostess cupcake which isn't necessarily bad within itself but if I'm paying $3+ for a cupcake, it better taste amazing, not like something that usually comes wrapped in plastic in a pack of two. Lake Tahoe Boulevard also failed to deliver the nostalgic s'more flavor that I was hoping for.

Bottom Line: Of the 4 cupcake places we visited, we ranked this one #3. I'd be willing to go back and taste others (they do say that Savannah Street is their best-seller and we didn't taste that one) but I'm not holding my breath for our next visit. If you check out either of the first two you'll already be in the area to visit this one in which case, go ahead. I wouldn't block out time in my day specifically to make the trek, though :-/

Fourth (and final) stop:

The Cupcakery

This cupcake shop has three Vegas locations:

Two off the strip (which are listed on their site) and one ON THE STRIP in the Monte Carlo.

We chose to visit the latter.

This cupcake shop has a great staff who seems to love cupcakes as much as we do (which is a lot!)

We were informed that the above case houses two different kind of cupcakes:

ON THE LEFT: cupcakes whose flavors come from the frosting

ON THE RIGHT: cupcakes whose flavors come from the cake (they had cream cheese frosting)

I'm not going to lie, we were excited about these. Not only were they all pretty and sparkly but they had lots of fun colors and flavors and, well, since it was our last cupcake shop, we decided to go out with a bang.

We got six.

Review

The good: Great staff, fun decorations for cupcakes AND interior (did you see that giant cupcake??), and come on, they're located ON the strip! Can't get much closer than that!

We really enjoyed the Gingerbread Cupcake; not only was the cake good but the little decoration on top is really a gingerbread man and boy, is he tasty!

Our favorite cupcake, though, was the Peanut Butter Chocolate one. Fantastic peanut butter flavor! Man, two great peanut butter cupcakes in one weekend. I'm in love!

The not-so-good: OK, I really hate to do this, but we were pretty disappointed by the other four. The Tickle-me-Pink (I'm almost positive this is what they called this flavor), their signature flavor, is just vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting. You can also get it as a chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting.

Here's my thinking:

If you're going to do such a simplistic flavor combination as your signature cupcake, MAKE IT AMAZING! I want it to be the best vanilla (or chocolate) I've ever tasted! After tasting it, I want to feel like all the other vanilla (or chocolate!) cupcakes I've had before were made of deception and lies.

Their Strawberry Shortcake cupcake was not made from real strawberries, either, but rather that stomach-churning, fake-me-out chemical strawberry flavor that probably comes from this rather than these.

Finally, did you see the carrier we got? Our six little cupcakes were sadly squished into that container with no separators to protect them from getting all mixed together! I feel like if you advertise selling your cupcakes in combinations of four, six, and twelve, you'd better have holders for each!

Bottom Line: Of the 4 cupcake places we visited, we ranked this one #4. We expected so much from this cupcake shop and were really disappointed by the end of the last cupcake. We were really sad to rank this place last, though, because we really did think we were going to get some yummy cupcakes. I'm not sure if the Monte Carlo location does its baking on-site, though, so maybe we'll chalk up the downfalls to the fact that they weren't fresh...?

Well, THAT was our trip to Vegas.

We had a couple nice dinners out, some lovely Vegas-style entertainment, and enjoyed some sweet baked goodies.

What better way to celebrate our first year together as husband and wife?

We might have to do this again NEXT year!

Catfighting Strippers

When Amber asked me to write a post for her and Megs big secret, which isn't a secret now if you're reading this, I was all... LOVE TOO. And when I found it was about Vegas, I was all... PERFECT! MIITB ROCKS VEGAS!!

Except...

Vegas is not about shopping, or clubbing (do people even call it that anymore? I have no idea), or drinking, or tanning, or watching live shows for me.

Nope, I love it for the poker games. That's what I do with 95% of my time in Vegas. But more than likely, none of you play poker, or care about poker.. so....

You get to hear about the time two strippers were about to throw blows over sweet little innocent me! So if strip clubs aren't your thing, feel free to peruse the other posts! This is barely PG-13 though.....

Since I'm usually with a bunch of guys in Vegas, I get dragged along to the strip club...which whatever, I'll help support single moms going to college &<-----kidding, calm down. We walk in and every stripper's radar goes off... OMG!! A GIRL WHO WON'T GROPE AND DROOL AND SWEAT ALL OVER ME. Literally as soon as we are shown our seats, three girls walk over to me... in the middle of 5 guys, and try to get them to buy me a dance. I turn them down, order my drink (or 3), politely refuse the next two girls to come up to me, and chair dance like the dork that I am to the music. Seven drinks later and the guys are buying me dances one after the other. Hey, when in Vegas right? One of the strippers was clearly drunk, or high, or a moron, stumbling all over me, trying to lift my shirt up, trying to lick me... it was awkward.. but hubby was digging it of course and told her to come back later. Right.. not enough alcohol in the world. <---eh, one more drink woulda done it Anysexuallyconfused, drunk girl leaves and another one comes up. This one is chatty cathy be my new bff. I learned she just moved here from Indiana, likes Vegas, wants to learn how to play poker, going to college, boyfriend dumped her, went grocery shopping last Tuesday... she wouldn't shut up. I'm listening her drone on about her bread catching on fire <----not kidding, she's in my lap stretching her leg up over my shoulder (cuz why isn't this situation normal?), and a plastic cup comes flying across the room and hits her in the head. Swear to God DOINK.. right off her bleach blonde hair and ricochets into my friend's lap. Chatty Cathy whips around and I wipe off my cleavage off from the Vodka and who's paying attention anymore when I heard doink.. "Do you know her?" CC asks, cuz now we're now in a committed stripper lap dance relationship and I've been busted cheating on her?? "Who?" I try to not laugh looking around her, cuz of course she's still sitting in my lap, again completely normal? CC points across the room to drunk girl, wobbling in her 8 inch stripper boots, holding her arms open like.. whats up now bitch? "Uh, not really. She gave me a dance earlier." "SHE'S MINE!" Drunk stripper yells across the room over the beats of Kid Rock's Cowboy. "Not right now.. Go drink another one!" CC yells back. "Holy shit, these strippers are gonna get in a fight over you," Hubby laughs in my ear. "Oh. my. God. What. Is. Going. On?" I laugh back as drunk stripper bobbles her way over to us. "Shwe's buyin' adnoder dance wif me... I dink yoooou done." She slurred grabbing CC's arm "I'm not done.. back off," CC stretched her leg back up. I was laughing too hard to remember what happened next. Yea, laughter or the 10 drinks I had consumed. But I'm' pretty sure drunk stripper sat and waited for CC to finish before ripping more money outta someones hand and pushing CC off my lap. I completely get that the fight wasn't about me.. it was about money and not wanting to go straddle dirty shirt Jim Bo from Arkansas at the table next to us.. but it was fun throwing it in the guys face's that I had strippers fighting over me. And that's my Vegas story... Happy birthday guys!!!!

It was February 2003 and I was turning 24 years old. Jdaddy and I were still in our honeymoon phase (we had only been married 4 months at that point) and he wanted to do something special for my birthday, so we planned a trip to Toronto.

We drove up to Toronto on a Friday afternoon. Jdaddy had purchased tickets for us to see The Lion King that evening.

After arriving at the hotel, we got dressed up and found an amazing Italian restaurant to eat at before heading to the show. The Lion King was unbelievable. The opening act gave me chills, and the rest of the show didn’t disappoint. We were tired from traveling, so we decided to call it an early night and went back to the hotel as soon as the show was over.

The next day, we slept in (because really, what’s a vacation/getaway without sleeping in?) and then went out to lunch at a traditional pub. After eating lunch, we made our way to the Eaton Centre for some shopping. We spent most of the day there, and then finally made our way over to the Hockey Hall of Fame.

After touring the HHOF, we had planned on walking down to the CN Tower.

We popped our head into this hole in the wall (literally!) restaurant/bar right next door to the HHOF and asked when they thought they would get busy (the Toronto Maple Leafs were playing the Montreal Canadiens that night). The waitress said we probably had an hour or two to come back. We started to make the walk to the CN Tower, but decided we were just too tired to walk all that way, so we decided to go back to the bar/restaurant.

It was two or three hours before the game started, so we decided to have a couple of drinks and see what happened. A couple drinks turned into a few, which turned into a few more.

We eventually ordered dinner (and more drinks!) and once we were full, we took a cab back to the hotel. Of course, we didn’t just go to our room. Oh no. We went to the hotel bar to have a few more drinks and to watch the end of the game.

I won’t go on, because that would take my PG-13 rating of my blog to an R rating, but I’m sure you can imagine. ;-)

The next day, we packed up and headed home. That weekend was the most fun I’d had with Jdaddy since our wedding day. And that is my most memorable/favorite birthday ever.

Princess Throws a Surprise Party

The prince is always cooking up surprises for me. It's no secret that he's my hot sauce. He's pulled off some pretty amazing surprises.

Me? I'm terrible at it. I can't pull anything over on him. And after a bad experience....I no longer try!

I met the prince when we were in college together. He played football...Offensive Tackle. He's a big, beefy dude.

I like me some big, beefy mens. (Makes me feel smaller and skinnier...always a plus.)

The prince threw me an awesome surprise party for my (first) 29th birthday. *ahem* I already told you to shut it earlier this week....

I was so touched that I really wanted to throw him a surprise party.

I called a trendy local restaurant that has an awesome loft area. It's an old brick building with lots of charm and character. Since the Prince's birthday is in September (right smack in the middle of football season), I had to plan the party for a Sunday.

Have I mentioned I live in the south?

Everything but church shuts down on Sundays here.

When the girl on the phone told me that most of the downtown restaurants were closed I panicked!

Strike one.

Please Lord don't make me throw him a party at Gatti Town!

She suggested a nearby place. She described it as a hip little establishment that had really good, eclectic appetizers and such. So I called. I was thrilled to hear they had an upstairs loft that I could reserve. We discussed their menu and it sounded interesting. I booked it.

That Sunday in September rolled around and of course I had to tell the prince at the last minute that he had to get dressed and ready for his surprise party. He was too tired and stubborn to go along with whatever lame story I was telling him.

I was forced to come clean.

Strike two.

We found a parking place and walked up to the dimly lit restaurant. As we crossed through the doorway, it took a few seconds for our eyes to adjust from the light outside to the darkness inside. But we could immediately feel the room screech to a halt and heads snap around.

We were in a gay bar.

STRIKE THREE!!!

Now please don't get me wrong. I have gay friends whom I love. So don't mistake this for a dis to them. But let's be honest here. My gays and my footballers (read: the prince's meathead buddies) don't typically make for a good mix.

And this was not your typical group of gays.

We're not talking the cutie pie gay dudes like Nate Berkus, Neil Patrick Harris or Anderson Cooper who could blend in.

More like Boy George or Adam Lambert who stick out like a pink poodle in a pack of rottweilers.

So picture this....

Well, except for the wives who got to watch their men sweat all night and refuse to go to the bathroom. (That was kind of fun.)

And actually, it turned out to be a great night. The food was good. And none of our men got hit on since, you know, our dudes weren't really their type and all.

*rolls eyes at straight guys*

The prince and his buddies didn't act like a bunch of haters. (They are all really good guys.)

And, in my defense, let me just say......this is a party that everyone still never lets me live down talks about every time I see them!

So at least I throw memorable parties....

After that business trip to Vegas I was down in the dumps. I hardly got to see everything from an "adult" perspective and I only gambled $3.75 at an airport slot machine on our way out of town. I guess the good news is that I left Vegas and I wasn't down. I walked away from that slot machine $1.25 richer.

Many years passed. The sun rose and the sun set. My Husband and I were about to get married and Vegas was never a thought that crossed our minds.

In 2008 some friends of ours, J & P were booking their annual Vegas trip and asked us to come along. I don't think a minute passed and we already had our tickets booked! We got a ass kicking deal through Travelocity. Before we knew it we were on our way to our 5 stay at The Venetian. That hotel is pretty much mind blowing. I mean, the first thing you notice when you walk into the hotel is the smell. It smells like you're standing in a garden full of gardenias. The ceilings are painted from one end to the other and it's just magnificent.

We got checked in and the bell boy brought our bags up. The bathroom was extravagant. Marble floors a gigantic shower and a vanity that was all mine, mine, mine! The linens on the bed were so soft and luscious, like if there were on my own bed, I would never leave.

For weeks before this trip, the 4 of us would discuss all the things we were going to do and see while we were there. We all agreed that we wanted our priority to be shows and attractions and gambling and drinking would be secondary. HA. Yeah right.

As soon as we were settled in our rooms we went down to one of the restaurants in the hotel called The Grand Lux Cafe. It is a sister restaurant to The Cheesecake Factory so the 4 of us, who are in love with food were not disappointed! Our bellies were full and we hit up the slots. We decided that the next morning we would find the shows and attractions that we wanted to see.

I have no idea why My Husband is brangin' the sad face...

We stayed up until the wee hours of the morning and stumbled up to our rooms and slept. We're a group of early-risers so we were out the door by 8:30 in the morning and on the hunt for breakfast. We walked up the strip and found a Denny's. We ate our breakfast there and then decided to wander further down The Strip to find something to do.

We managed to make our way into New York, New York. We had a bit of a group meeting and decided that we would sit and gamble until lunch, find something to eat there and then we would be on our way. This was at 10 in the morning. The four of us posted up at a row of slots that we just knew were going to be lucky. We were only going to be there for a few hours, so there was no need to get too comfy. The cocktail waitress was really good about bringing us drinks and we were all doing really well on these slots. Two of us would be way up while the others were way down and it would just switch off.

Somewhere around 11:30PM one of the guys realized that we hadn't stopped to eat lunch. Or dinner. There we sat, and none of us could see straight. We hadn't even got up to use the bathroom ALL DAY LONG. I finally gave in. I was going to "break the seal". P had to physically help me to the bathroom, like we had to hold each other up on the long walk over. We each went into our own stalls and just laughed for about 15 minutes before doing any sort of actual bathroom business. We then decided to walk outside and drunk dial everyone we could think of. I called my best friend and told her about the real D&G sunglasses I scored for $20 and I told her that I was pretty sure I had never been that drunk in my entire life. I don't remember what she said, but I remember her laughing. A lot. Then I called my sister. She asked if I had seen any celebrities since we had been there and I was all "yup! We saw Donnie & Marie Osmond". She was excited for my celebrity sighting until I confessed that we saw them, but their faces were plastered across one of the hotels. She laughed and then got a little concerned that none of us had any concept of time and that none of us had eaten in well over 12 hours. This is huge for us. We love to eat. Food never once crossed our minds. The only thing we cared about were the dings and bells coming from our row of machines. If you've never been to Vegas than you'll understand, but if not, the first thing you need to know before arriving is that there is not one place in Vegas that has a clock (unless you're in a watch store) and there are not windows to the outside world, thus making it like a time warp. You walk into a place and the sun is shining and you walk out and it's half past midnight. It's a common occurrence out there.

P and I finally go back inside and the guys are ready to leave. We're all starving so we're on the hunt for food. I asked if we could eat every time I saw something that even resembled food. At one point, J decided that he needed to go into a suvennier shop to try to find some dice shaped suckers for their daughter. BIG MISTAKE.

We walked in dice shaped suckerless, but we were princess' in full effect.

We pushed onward. We didn't make it much further before P and I decided that it was the perfect second for another photo shoot...

Do you see all that stuff in her hands? Yeah, those are stripper cards. For a good time call...

Food. We needed food and we needed it bad. We must have passed 147 eateries on the way, but none were good enough, so finally I begged and pleaded. Outback Steakhouse it is, folks! Awesome, bread and salad and steak and BEEEEEEER. Just what the doctor ordered. After dinner we walked back to our hotel, all of us still wasted. We called it a night and had big plans for the next day. We were going to see shows and attractions!

Since we're on Texas time and I'm an early riser, I was up each morning at 4AM, Vegas time. It sucked, but really, that next morning I made the find of a lifetime when I was all alone. I rolled out of bed with no bra, some sweat shorts and an over-sized t-shirt. Talk about hot, y'all! I wandered down to the casino and I saw this couple sitting at a pair of machines. They looked like they hadn't moved in 12 hours and I knew that look and feeling all too well! I watched. I peered over their shoulders and found the slot machine they were playing looked like so much fun.

Before breakfast I told P that we needed to play those machines. Wizard of Oz. 'nuff said! We had to lurk around the machines after breakfast until those people, who were still there got up. We played "The Wiz" and it was so much fun! I never thought I would get so excited when those creepy flying monkeys would appear, but that just meant money in the bank! The guys dragged us away from them and we pouted for a good 2.5 minutes or so. We were determined to do some sight seeing, so we ventured out towards The Strip. We went in and out of hotels looking at all the neat stuff they had. It was early December so all the hotels were decorated for Christmas. The Bellagio has this indoor garden and it was beautiful! There were snowmen made of white flowers and reindeer made out of walnuts it was just so much to take in! We saw now shows and continued to drink and gamble at different places along our walk. All of us were very sure not to sit down in one place for too long. Godforbid we'd miss another meal or be as wasted as we were the night before.

Our last full day there we decided to walk the other direction up The Strip. We didn't make it very far, basically two hotels over and we made it to The Wynn. This place was really pretty on the inside. We marched over to guest services and got our VIP cards so we could start gambling. We hung out there for most of the day. When you have those VIP cards, you put them into the machine as you play and you earn points. Points get you things. Most of the time you have to either lose your ass or win big to get anything. In our case we all lost enough to earn a free buffet, which doesn't sound like much, but we're talking $45 per person dinner. Most would consider losing so much money that you get a free meal a bad thing, but you know how we like food, right? FTW! We left The Wynn early in the afternoon because we were still determined to experience at least one attraction! We went back to The Venetian and had a gondola ride! It was expensive, but it was fun. Our Gondalier was funny, which is always a plus.

Look, MA! I meet the height requirement. Barely.

After the gondola ride it was time to clean up and head back over to The Wynn for our free dinner! We got there early so we could gamble some more! By the time we left there we had all earned another buffet! Score for breakfast, y'all! Their buffet is ahh-mazing!

After dinner we headed back for a quiet night. The boys in front of their Blazing 777's machine and P & I parked at The Wiz. We had one more sleep before we left to come home the next day. There was much packing that needed to be done and none of us were happy about it!

The next morning we walked back over to The Wynn for our farewell breakfast. It was bitter sweet. We were all ready to be home, but none of us wanted to leave, if that makes any sense. The breakfast was like nothing I had ever experienced before. The buffets in Vegas don't mess around.

After breakfast it was time to head to the airport. We made it home and I think it took all four of us to recuperate. It takes a long time to recover brain cells after a drinking binge like that!

Hey all - It's Meg - I have been MIA all week due to fighting Strep in my house - so Amber has been doing all the work (Thank you so much Amber - total life saver!!) Supahmommy Does Vegas

FIRST. Happy Birthday to my little bloggy sisters Amber and Meg. I'm totally the COOL older sister, right? * shaking head up and down , eyes wide* So HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU TWO. I wish that you could actually go throw down in Vegas town, but ( you like how I poet-ed that don't cha) it' s not in the cards. " cards.. " nyuck nycuk. I'M STILL cool older sister right? Even with the lam-o jokes and punnies. Okay. So here's my post that Amber and Meg dared to threaten me with black ball mination if I didn't complete it. <-- True story we did. :)

Supah does Vegas

Way back before I was Supah. When Supah was only a vision in my blank and dazed mommy eyes. My husband , during our formative years of only 2 children and more money, suprised me for our 6th anniversary with a trip to Vegas. The best part WAS... that he wasn't GOING ! WOOO HOO.. Yes. I'm a total biznotch like that. He SUCKS BASS to travel with unless he's drunk and happy. And usually I'M the one DRUNK and happy .. so he's stuck driving and all grumpy boo boo at the world. But he wasn't GOING. He got it for me and my sis. The " Nenny." Sweet momma mercy. What a gift it was! I was so excited I almost pissed my pants at the mere thought of packing a bag that didnt' hold diapers, bottles nor one ounce of butt cream ! We jetted off to Vegas and while I'd love to tell you that my calm cool collective self on the plane. Not was I. I suck at flying. In fact I don't remember most of the flight. Perhaps the massive amounts of drugs I took combined with alchohol caused this. Or not. Perhaps I just plain don't remember the joyous occasion because it's been THAT LONG since I've been on my own without worrying about a soul but myself. So here's my BEST Vegas story We were attempting to see the Treasure Island Big Whoop Whore show.

Right out in front of the Treasure Island hotel for those of you non Vegas knowers. Think big Pirate ships.. and scantily clad women. Porno for pirates. ( wink)

Well we had a bad view. So we decided to go to another area to get a better peek. We weren't sure whcih way to go so Nenny suggested walking this one way. Because she CAN do math and I can't she always wins. It's like the law or something. SO I fought this time. I fought for my right to choose which way to go. And she gave in. * MAGIC OF VEGAS!* MATHTARD UNITE!

I SEE this whole line of Chinese people from far away. All in a line taking pictures. So I say to Nenny, because now I'm in charge. Mathtards RISE AND RULE! LET'S FOLLOW THEM.. they HAVE to know where they're going. They obviously have a leader and he's beginning to wave them on. So I say.. COMON' HURRY UP. We walk together giggling and get in line to the end of the line of Chinese tourists. And we join their group.

No joke.

We are in a few pictures. WE ARE CHEESING like fluther muckers. We continue to follow our new friends like little lemmings. Bringin up the rear of their line. Nodding our heads as they talk to us. Our line rounds the corner and we realize that we are in line... for the tour bus.

Awww.. smack daddy. Ok. So Mathtards.. don't unite. * Nenny 1 Supah 0* So Nenny takes over. We veer off course and follow this one path.

Two chother mucking hours later we were STILL walking AROUND THE ENTIRE FREAKING TREASURE ISLAND PERMIMETER. I LIE YOU NOT. It was like a labryinth maze that once you were in... David Bowie wasn't lettin you out. It was our virtual desert. And we were stranded. Marching one foot in front of the other... dreaming of .. anything but walking. At least in my case. Mid Labryinth... Nenny gets the hot diggity dog grumbles in her belly. She's gotta shit something fierce and she's sportin some turtle. Where we were? I have no idea. How a hotel can be THAT big. BEyonD MY math limited brain. There were NO PEOPle. IT WAS getting scary. We were in Vegas. And there were NO PEOPLE. There were also , no bathrooms. She was pinching so hard she had to stop walking and breath it out. I joked about bushes but she's all business when she's gotta poop so my funnies were lost on her. . So FINALLY we see lights .. it was like a mirage. Nenny is seriously breathing labor pains here. Bent over. Huddled. I begin to run ahead. I leave her to find an entrance. I Shall save my sister. I would ALSO like to see the damn show. I am lightenging, I am fast. I run like the wind. I shall find her a bathroom! I never do. She finds it first. * Nenny 2 Supah 0* She shits up a storm in the bathroom. Not only did we FINALLY get to see the STUPIDEST show on EArth.. but WE got to walk the ENTIRE PERMIMETER of the Treasure Island hotel. The .End. I know bestow upon you .. lots of really bad pictures. This is what happens when you have no one to take pics for you. But you're too self centered to take a picture of yourself alone in front of something. Cuz that looks super stupid. Like So:

My love affair with Las Vegas started when I was 13 years old.

My aunt and uncle lived in Tonopah, Nevada. We often referred to Tonopah as TonoPATCH because it was such a small little town. It was nothing like Las Vegas.

When I was 12 years old my parents had this grand idea to take a summer vacation, Road Trip Style. I will leave out the details of that god awful family vacation and save them for another time. I'll just suffice it to say that when we came home from that vacation, nobody in my family spoke to one another for at least 2 whole days. It was simply the worst vacation ever, BUT, I did get to see Tonopah, Nevada.

Tonopah was the ittsiest, bittsiest town ever. There was one small grocery store, a gas station and the town homes my aunt and uncle lived in. I'm sure there was more, but we didn't see it.

My first encounter with a slot machine was at the Tonopah grocery store. We walked in and there they were, in all of their ring-y, ding-y glory. I was allowed to look but not touch. Something about laws and gambling.

The next summer I turned 13. For my birthday my parents flew me out to Las Vegas, by myself. My aunt and uncle picked me up from the airport and we were going to to spend the entire weekend in Vegas. I bet you're wondering what on earth does a 13 do in Vegas? Two words, people. CIRCUS, CIRCUS! We went in and out of casinos just so that I could see what they were like, but security in every casino was quick to notice that I was way underage and would instruct me to "stay on the carpet path". If you've ever been to Vegas, you know exactly what "the carpet path" is. Each casino has a distinct path that weaves through the intricet layout of the slot machines and gaming tables. The carpet that is beneath the slots and tables is different than the "path" that runs through it all.

For two days we wandered in and out of casinos, we walked the strip and I saw the lights. The lights were so amazing. I rode in the back of my uncles Porche as we drove up and down the strip. I thought I was hot shit for being able to ride in a Porsche while looking at lights.

A few years after I went to Vegas on my 13th birthday, my aunt and uncle relocated to Henderson, Nevada. If you know anything about the Las Vegas area (or you watch CSI), you'll know that Henderson is an outskirt, or suburb of Las Vegas. CACHINGGGG!

When they moved to Henderson, I would go visit at least once a year with my family. During spring break of my Junior year in high school, my sister and I flew to New Mexico to visit my relatives and then my grandparents loaded us up and the four of us drove to Henderson to stay with my aunt and uncle for a week. Somewhere in that week I was introduced to my very first Cirque Du Soleil. My grandpa bought tickets for all 4 of us to see it. It was AHHHMAZING! I had never in my life seen anything like it. I knew the second we walked out of there that I wanted to come back just to see another Cirque Du Soleil. Back then, Mystere at Treasure Island was the only Cirque that existed in Vegas. Prior to Mystere there was a show at The Mirage called Nouvelle Experience, but it was finished before Mystere started.

Everything about the show was just breathtaking. The costumes, the acrobatics, the theatrics the music. Just everything. It was an experience of a lifetime, for sure.

Now, lets fast forward a few years to when I was 23. I was working as a store manager for Suncoast Motion Pictures. The Store Manager position had its ups and downs, but one of the huge ups was that once a year they sent all the store managers to Vegas for about 4 days for company meetings. I was so excited about this because well, I was 23 and hadn't been to Vegas as an adult and I was going to have friends around!

Sadly, that trip to Vegas was not what I expected. We got to Vegas before noon and checked into our rooms at Caesars Palace. We immediately had to be in a meeting after lunch, so we basically dropped our bags off in our rooms, found a bite to eat and then went to our meetings. That night they fed us a banquet dinner with an open bar. We were happy about the open bar and an awesome meal, but my friend and I were all "when do we get to go playyyyyyyyyy"? The only time we saw the outside of the meeting room was to find the bathroom. After dinner and free drinks we all retired to our rooms because meetings started again bright and early. The next day we had breakfast in one of the big meeting rooms and broke out into meetings for the rest of the day. Lunch was brought in and our district had dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, which was inside Caesars Palace. Still, at this point none of us had breathed fresh air in more than 24 hours. After dinner we were asked to come back to the meeting room for some entertainment. We were all less than thrilled because we were like some caged animals in the most ferocious place on earth. VEGAS. We wanted out, but we had to follow the rules because it was a company trip.

Our entertainment that night was actually pretty neat. They had DL Hughley do stand up for us. We had this big time comedian all to ourselves. There was maybe 100 people in the room and he just wandered through the sea of tables cracking jokes. He actually told me that I was pretty! I'll never forget that moment. He also told our District Manager that it's true what they say about Texas. Everything's bigger! Our DM was pushing 350. Easy. Good thing she was a good sport and took it like a champ. We had so much fun, but "when can we go out and playyyyyyyy"? Well, it wasn't going to be that night. DL performed until after midnight and we had another meeting at 8AM. Ugh.

The next morning came and went. The meetings were a bore and it was hard to stay focused. We hadn't left the building or had any sort of fresh air in more than 48 hours. My friend and I were grumpy. He and I were trying to plan our escape. Lunch time came around and they told us that they were catering dinner with an open bar again. My friend and I just looked at each other and nearly cried. Don't get me wrong, Caesars Palace is a nice joint, but seriously! How can you bring a shit ton of people to Vegas and never let them leave the building? When dinner arrived our DM came to the table where my friends and I were sitting. She told us that after dinner we had the option of going out on the town or staying in again for free drinks and more entertainment. I don't think either one of us even tasted our food. We inhaled and were were OUTTA THERE like a fat kid in dodge ball.

We didn't know what to do with ourselves. First, we changed clothes and met up in the lobby. We walked outside and nearly had to hold each other up because we didn't remember what real, non-oxygen pumped air smelled like. I'm sure we didn't do this, but honestly we could have taken off in a sprint down the strip. We stopped here and there and we got pictures of this and that. We had plenty of expensive drinks and before we knew it we were standing at the entrance to Coyote Ugly in New York, New York. Since we weren't staying at the NYNY we had to pay to get in. It was $15 for me and I swear he paid about $250 to get in the door, but we didn't care. We wanted beers and we wanted Vegas fun!

I only remember the rest of this night because there was photographic evidence and my friend was quick to remind me of all the jackass-y stuff we did! After we got into the doors at Coyote Ugly, he and I started to pound beers like we were never going to be able to drink again. The next thing he knew, I was up on the bar dancing. By myself. I hath no shame, y'all! I was so pissed at him for not getting pictures of that, but he managed to take pictures of the fountains at The Bellagio on our way back.

We stumbled into our rooms somewhere in the 3 'o clock hour. Our meeting the next morning was at 8, but we were leaving to go to the airport at noon, so I had to be up around 5ish to pack my bags. Needless to say, my friend and I were MISERABLE.

Before we knew it we were on the plane back home trying to nap on one another. I had my head on his shoulder and his head was on my head. We wanted to die. This trip isn't what I thought Vegas was about, but I wasn't about to let it get the best of me. I would be back someday and I would rock it harder just to make up for the company trip...

My best Birthday ever was spent on the island of BARBADOS!

It was our third stop on a cruise around the Southern Carribean.

My sister surprised me with a chocolate ganosh cake

and to make things even better than that, (how can it get better than Barbados and chocolate ganosh cake you ask?

Well, here is the icing on the fudgefilled cake...

My waiter was the cutest little Phillipino man, who loved my kids and made us laugh every night!

He delivered my cake to me that night and sang a solo happy birthday song to me that literally had me peeing in my pants.

The boys were sliding down in their chairs hoping not to make eye contact with their immature father as we sat and listened to a veeeerrry slow rendition of the happy birthday song we all kow and love that went a little something like this:

How to celebrate 28 with The Sassciety (Guest Blogger!! + PRIZE!)

So I have been asked by the lovely and talented Amber to be a guest on her blog! I was so excited to do this post because I LOVE doing posts with pictures, however, in true McSass fashion.....I'm totally last minute.

See, I actually wrote a post when she asked initially, but I wrote it on my last birthday which was great BUT I sounded so boring.....and I decided I didn't like my outfit/hair. I promise I'm really not that materialistic!

So this year, the Popo bought me a dress! W'woo!! I've never worn a dress to go out...ever, except to weddings. This birthday party was definitely one that I will NEVER forget. My friends came out despite the horrific roads and snow storm. I can't thank them enough....and I can't wait to finally be able to use my new thank you cards!!!

So let's get with the program....Picture time!!! I wish I was able to write about Vegas too but the closest I got was a text message pic of my sister when she got married there. Not much of a "The Hangover" story there.

Last night was great. I have realized (again) that I am truly fortunate and blessed to have the people in my life that I do. They are so thoughtful, kind and overall great to me. Ok, enough sap! haha.

We started off with some reserved tables. A friend of ours hooked us up, he is a bartender at the bar we went to. How nice was that?!

My bff's C2 and Lish! They braved the snow storm to come out. Lish spent her entire day shoveling her driveway! and C2 doesn't even drive to WORK in the snow, lol

C2 made me this pillow (or pellow as it should be pronounced!) It has pictures of myself, her and our friends on it...oh yeah and I lobbed off 7 inches of hair......

Ahh the Popo.....Need I say more???

Ok, for all of you animal lovers out there, please don't hate me for this next picture....This is us trying to win a lobster. If you catch one, they cook it for you for free. Well for the two bucks (or however much you spend trying to win!) I totally suck at this.

This is my sad attempt at looking "cool" haha with my 2nd....err probably 5th dreamsicle

Well this is where I would post a video of me and The Popo's cousin playing "Heart & Soul" on the hotel piano buuuuuut I can't get that to upload in here. We just laugh hard through the video because I keep screwing up my part....had to be there *crickets....* OH! and this is also where I'd tell you that my friend spilled part of a dreamsicle all over my legs. Hey, at least it was the end of the night and she wiped it off.

The drive home was slow. The roads were HORRIBLE....

It may not look THAT bad but you try walking up your sloped driveway in 4 and 3/4 inch heels when your boyfriend's car gets stuck. See, the smart person would have waited in the car....nope, not me. Good old "Gracie" here tried to hoof it. Whatever you do, don't ever try that at home!!! I looked like a baby deer slippin on ice!

So with this turning into a novel, I wanted to wish Amber & Megan a VERY happy birthday and thank them VERY much for allowing me to cloud up her blog with all my pictures!!!

Since Meg and I have never met we thought it would be fun to let you plan a trip for us anywhere in World. You have a budget of $10,000 and it must include airfare and lodging. Use as much of the money as possible. Your job is to use the clues we have given you and try to create the perfect vacation for us.

Challenge Requirements:

Must include 2 plane tickets (out of 2 diff airports going to the same destination)
Must include lodging
Use as much of the money as possible while still staying under budget
Must be there for our birthdays (Amber: March 28, Meg: March 30)
Must be linked up by Friday, March 5th
Include Pictures of the resort/area also

Clues:

Amber would fly out of GRB
Meg would fly out of BNA
Amber loves the warm weather
Amber loves anything High quality and first class resorts
Amber loves fun vacation spots with lots of things to do
Meg loves to be the life of the party - if there's music and drinks (And no kiddo's) You can bet Meg will be in the middle.
Meg tends to like warm weather - if its cold or cloudy - she's not having it!

Welcome to Meg & Amber's Celebration Blog!

We found out about 3 months ago that our birthdays were only 2 days apart while arguing on who the youngest blogger for Supah Survivor would be (Meg won!) That same night we decided that we were going to do a month long celebration in honor of our 23rd birthday's!
